100% chance of rain. If you were anywhere on the east coast this weekend you know that the rain was relentless. It went from pouring to heavy misting and back again. Thankfully, Sam and Sarah had opted for an indoor wedding! And they weren’t concerned. Instead it was all smiles, excitement, and a few happy tears that their wedding day was finally here. The ceremony took place at Valley Bible Church in Radford and then we all drove out to Doe Creek Farm for the reception. At this point the rain had turned into a fine mist and we were able to step out into the foggy cold for some portraits. And it made it that much more romantic.
Dinner was served by Dogtown Pizza from Floyd, meaningful, laugh inducing toasts were made, mini jars of apple butter from the farm were handed out, and the night ended with a Carol Lee doughnut cake (my second this year!). And as the night turned into one big dance party it was easy to see that these two are surrounded by amazing family and friends, and if the words of their two best friends are any indication then they will have a life full of adventures.
Sam and Sarah, it has been wonderful to get to know you as part of our small group this year. Thank you for entrusting me to capture your wedding day and following me out into the rain – the end result was worth it! I hope you are having an amazing time on your honeymoon and I can’t wait to see you all when you get back :)
Gwynn did the flowers for my wedding too and it was so fun to see her again – Stonecrop does amazing work!
