One thing I love about my brides is that they are never just one-time clients. After their weddings, we often get to see them again as big life events happen: from anniversaries to babies we love to share in the joy of it! Even though we don’t often shoot maternity or family sessions we love to make exceptions for our EP Brides :)
Emily and I worked together as studio photographers when I first moved to Blacksburg. We shot a lot of the off-site events for the studio, traveling with lots of gear, shooting lots of toddlers, and even dreamed of opening up a studio together one day. And although that didn’t happen I’ve loved staying a part of her life!
When she and Velma were ready to tie the knot I had the privilege of capturing their day, and the honor of being one of the only people to witness that moment. It was so amazing to be a part of their day and some of my favorite wedding portraits to date!
Well now with a baby girl on the way, Emily called and asked if I could capture a few maternity portraits. They took a break from remodeling their basement and we met up to capture this milestone. Thankfully Sunday gave us a gorgeous afternoon and the winter light was perfect. Emily made her flower sash and brought a bunny that she’s had since she was a little girl and we incorporated all these details into their shoot. Needless to say, the result was amazing.
Emily and Velma, thank you for trusting me to capture some of your big life moments and letting me be there to share in your joy. I can’t wait to meet your precious baby girl!
