Monday Musings

You would think Monday after DST would be a hard one to start, but thanks to my friend and workout partner Niki we decided to ignore all that and get up before 5 instead. I don’t know how she did it but she talked me into doing an extra class before our normal 6 am spin. So at 8, I was feeling like I had already had a full day – and my Fitbit agreed. If you watched my Instagram story today you know that it thinks I already got 8,000 steps before I even left the gym! I wish :) However, after some troubleshooting via Twitter I found out it’s combining yesterday and today’s activity and should be sorted out in the next 24 hours once they catch up to the time change – just in case any of you were fighting with your trackers today as well. So needless to say I’ll be ready for bed extra early tonight.

It was probably good I got some extra activity in because unlike the rest of VA I am praying for snow and lots of it tomorrow. I want to be snowed in with no excuse to leave the couch except for more snacks or a new book. So that means it probably won’t happen – but I’m watching my midwest friends posts about it and hoping… I just want one really good snow this year and then I’ll be ready to move on to summer!

This is our last slow week of the year before things start to pick up! Between weddings and trips, we are going to have a lot between now and July and I’m ready for our spring weddings as well as some downtime in our favorite place. However, that does mean I’m trying to get ahead on things as well as knock out the last few winter projects, it’s not going as well as I had hoped. So on to some musings instead!

  • I spent a good part of yesterday catching up on laundry and decided I don’t mind actually doing the laundry, it’s the putting it away that’s the worst. Why isn’t there a machine that exists for that yet? Come on laundry robots!
  • I made Cannoli dip yesterday for the first time in a few years and realized why I waited so long to bring the recipe back to life. It is amazing and I want to eat all of it in one sitting. Yesterday we tried.
  • We often host people at our house and have a great living room for it, but we are always short on coffee. It’s not really a problem we just end up making multiple pots throughout the evening but know thanks to my brother-in-law we are now a two coffee pot family and I love everything about that. You can never have too much.
  • I don’t know what happened this winter but somehow we missed all the major movies and are very behind, which again is why a snow day would be great to play catch up. On our list? Rogue One, Dr. Strange, The Accountant, Hidden Figures, Arrival, and Trolls. Anymore we missed? Let me know it the comments so we can add them to our must sees.

I hope you have a happy, fast Monday and by the time you read this, we are on our way to being snowed in!
