Monday Musings

So the Monday Musings posts took a little hiatus during the craziness that was the month of August. I knew the wedding was going to keep me busy but I really feel like I lost a whole month of my life! And since getting back from the honeymoon it’s taken a few weeks to leave our newlywed cocoon and re-enter the real world. But with the middle of September upon us, fall engagement shoots in full swing, pumpkin everything everywhere you look, and much cooler weather this weekend – I have to admit summer is over. Now don’t get me wrong I love fall – the colorful leaves, the cozy sweaters, the opportunity to wear boots again, and of course more excuses to make my friend Rachel’s pumpkin bars – but I’m just not ready for summer to end. So I’m trying to hang on just a little longer but still grilling almost every night and not putting my sandals away quite yet :)

Though of course with the colder weather – colds and flus tend to come back full force, so besides attending a Pampered Chef bridal shower, I spent most of the weekend inside resting trying to ward off the sickness that hit me :( So since my weekend was a little slower, here are some other fun musings from the last week:

  • I ordered my first Emily Ley Simplified Planner this week. I am so excited for it to get here and am sad I can’t start using it until January. With high recommendations from my Tuesdays Together group I can’t wait to see how this is going to improve my productivity and streamline my workflows! Here’s a picture from her website (used with permission) of the one I ordered:

  • I started to read Paper Towns this week and can’t put it down. I am just hoping it isn’t as sad as The Fault In Our Stars. Either way I’m a John Green fan.
  • We are big lovers of Mexican cuisine in our house, however this week I think we outdid ourselves by eating something Mexican 5 different times – and yet I could still have some for lunch today…
  • I spent what felt like the last night of summer with Sam and Sarah (and their dog Riker!) shooting their engagement pictures. I couldn’t help but post one already and will have more this gorgeous engagement session for you on the blog tomorrow! But for now, here’s another fun shot from Friday:
