The sun broke through the clouds. the blue sky decided to join us and it was a perfect crisp fall day. When I arrived Alex was in the prep chair surrounded by friends and family and so excited this day was finally here. She’d been waiting for over a year to marry her best friend. Since we’d met for their engagement session last fall it seemed like every time we talked something else in the planning process had gone wrong; from the first caterer leaving the state and having to find a new one, to the dress arriving with a stain, to the car wreck that morning that shatterd the champagne flutes, it seemed like nothing happened the way it should. But the wedding wasn’t the point, marrying her best friend was. And that was the theme of the day: how they were better together and made each other happier than they’d ever been. Tim McGraw’s “My Best Friend” was their first dance song and it was so fitting. In the end all of Alex’s hard work paid off, and as the sun faded into the horizon, the party started. They were married!
