Monday Musings

It’s not often that Scott and I get a day off together. I mean like a true day off, not a Sunday, not a day we have to go somewhere or do something not fun. Well this past Saturday we got to spend the whole day together. His cousin had messaged me a while back wanting some family pictures and while I normally only shoot weddings and engagements, for family I’m happy to make an exception – plus her son Caleb just steals my heart with his little smile :) So Scott took Saturday off and we drove down to Marion for the day. I got to visit Hungry Mother State Park for the first time and grab a few family shots for his cousins. And since we were in town we stopped in to have dinner with his parents. It was a nice relaxing – cold – fall day. The leaves reflected in the lake were gorgeous and we got to meet and cuddle baby Myles!

After getting home late Saturday night we headed right to bed and woke up for a very full Sunday. All morning at church and then back down to Marion to see Scott’s grandma for lunch. She is an amazing woman who makes a huge meal for her 3 sons and their families every Sunday. We try to make it down as often as possible and since it’s been a few weeks since we made it plus we’ll miss the next two we made the drive to Marion a second time. After another afternoon with family we had dinner with the new Mr. and Mrs. Westman! They are back from their honeymoon and had us over for a delicious spaghetti dinner and some wedding wine that didn’t get opened :)

So as you can see with most of our lives lately it was go from start to finish this weekend. But it was the good kind of full – lots of family and friends and yummy food. Though, I’m now at the point I’m counting the hours until our vacation next week (I think I can, I think I can is my work week mantra). I did find some time to cull and edit here and there, when I wasn’t playing with my new camera bag. I have lots of sessions to deliver this week and two more to shoot before the beach vacation starts. But for now here is a peek at the session I shot last week! It’ll hit the blog tomorrow! And now…back to Lightroom.
