One of the things I had a chance to do last year was second shoot with April of Amodeo Photography. I love second shooting because you get the chance to work a wedding with someone else, see how they do things, and learn from them. I’ve gotten the chance to shoot some new venues as well as play with some new equipment that is now on my wish list (Ice Light anyone?).
But when April and I first pulled up to West Manor Estate I think my jaw literally dropped. It is so gorgeous. There is a long winding drive leading up to the beautiful estate house, a glass enclosed room that leads into the beautiful open ballroom, and gazebo out back to exchange vows under. It was amazing and I can’t wait for the chance to shoot here again! The getting ready room is full of mirrors and light and the grooms room is basically the coolest man cave I’ve been in. Brides, if you haven’t found your venue yet you should definitely look into this one!
On top of the amazing setting though were these floral arrangements that were breath taking. Carrie gave Petal Flower Company freedom to create a unique centerpiece for each table overflowing with all different types of colorful flowers – she said this was her favorite part and they really outdid themselves.
Another great part about second shooting is that you get the chance to catch the candid moments in between that happen and I’ve included some of my favorites from Robert and Carrie sneaking a kiss to the flower girls giggling :) For the full day there is more on April’s blog, but here are just some of the moments I had the chance to capture. Thanks again April! I can’t wait to shoot with you again.
These boys sure knew how to work the camera
