On a wedding day you work with a team – planners, florists, bakers, DJs, and many more help to make a wedding day happen and be everything the bride hoped it would be. When you know the team you work with it makes the day so much fun and go that much smoother. So why not join a network where you can meet other vendors with the same purpose as you? The Roanoke Wedding Network is just that; a group with a common goal to help weddings in Roanoke be amazing. Plus it’s always fun to hang out with people in the same industry as you and eat wedding cake! We have meetings every other month and it is always at a new fun venue. You get to know people you may soon be working with and have a chance to see each others work in action. We covered the event back in July too if you want to see that here.
Last night we got together at the Sheraton Hotel in Roanoke for an evening of delicious food, yummy cake, and tasty chocolates. Our sponsors for each event rotate and last night they included the Sheraton staff and chef, Chocolate Paper, Asta DJ, Confection Connection, and of course Edmiston Photography :) There were a lot of new vendors to meet and we also got the chance to catch up with some we haven’t seen in awhile. Things are starting to ramp up for the Roanoke Wedding Crawl so there was some planning for that. And we also had a guest speaker from Unite Virginia. They are a media company that does a great job connecting Virginia through storytelling about people and companies. They had some back issues for us to check out and you can pick them up free around the state!
Besides delicious lobster mac n’ cheese the Sheraton staff went all out with mini-Brie cups and yummy salads.
Chocolate paper brought several samples – so of course we had to try them all. I loved the dark chocolate caramel, but also the key lime pie were also so tasty!
Confection Connection made some beautiful and tasty naked cakes – one of my favorite trends.
And Asta DJ ran the program and played some fun music.
A big thanks to the RWN for putting on this event and all the others! If you are a wedding professional looking to get connected join us March 22nd at The Patrick Henry for the next meeting :)
