I’ve known Melia almost as long as I’ve lived in Virginia. We met back when I was working at the Olive Garden and quickly became friends. We both loved photography and she started second shooting at some weddings for me.
Since then, we’ve both left Olive Garden and keep in touch mostly through facebook. She and her husband recently had a baby boy and so she called me to see if we could get some family pictures. And since it was Mother’s Day weekend she also brought all the grandparents and siblings and we did a full session with all of them! It felt a little like family portraits on a wedding day with a lot more laughter and a little bit of rain. Thankfully the storm passed quickly and we just huddled under a roof together while it passed!
Melia and fam: It was so much fun to meet you all and see your family dynamics. It’s clear you are all close and baby Barret is very well loved. Thank you for letting me capture this time in your history for you – and for some of you give you the “most pictures you’ve had since your wedding day!” I had so much fun and we should do it again next year!
Haha – when your siblings photobomb your romantic moment.
