Happy Monday! It’s a post-wedding Monday which means lots going on here today behind the scenes, but they are our favorite type because it means lots of pretty images to go through. We spent Saturday with Chad and Evie and they are some of the sweetest people ever. Their wedding was so much fun and I can’t wait to show you more. And speaking of weddings, I read an amazing article on Vogue this week titled, “My Wedding is Not the Most Important Day of My Life.” It’s no secret we love weddings and the joy they bring but I love how the author speaks to brides about the point behind the wedding: the marriage. She writes:
“Everything won’t be perfect. Some relative will misbehave; some friend will get too drunk. There will be a detail of decor that I hate. It might rain. Something won’t go according to plan. If it were the most important day of my life, those things could be devastating, but it’s not, so I plan to have a great time no matter what. I know the real accomplishment, what is truly important, is spending the rest of our lives together.”
I think this is so beautiful and important for brides to remember. Yes, your wedding will be wonderful, but if it doesn’t go as planned then it’s not the end of the world. And at the end of the day, you get to marry your best friend and spend the rest of your lives together. So if planning is stressing you out today – just remember the reason behind it all :)
Besides hanging out with an amazing couple this weekend, we worked on another fun project! If you follow me on Instagram and saw my story then you know there was some big furniture in our not so big car :) And that is because it is time to officially announce… Christmas Mini Sessions are coming! That’s right, it is that time of year again :) If you are a past client and want a new photo for your Christmas card, or you do this with us every year you know how much fun we have. This year is going to be a little different though because we are having a styled set up. Scott and I have been scheming and it is going to be so much fun. So, if you want to be on the list to sign up first – click here! We will let you have the first option to sign up and then open it up to everyone else. There are going to be very limited sessions so you’ll want to get on that list to have first dibs for the time of your choice! So head over today and opt-in to be on our Christmas list!
But before you click away…here are some musings for your Monday!
- Is anyone else sad there wasn’t a Luke’s Diner pop-up closer to us? Did anyone else consider driving 5 hours for coffee? No? Just me? Ok.
- And speaking of things that go with coffee…we abandoned all pretenses of being healthy and basically I lived on chocolate chip cookies this weekend. And it was amazing. If not for Feast & Company feeding us at the wedding I would have probably not had anything substantial at all :)
- We finally caught up on The Blacklist this weekend. We love James Spader’s character, but what does it say when you are rooting for the heroine to die? She just always does what everyone warns her not to and then causes all kinds of problems.
That’s all for today! Don’t forget to sign up to be the first to hear about Christmas sessions! And here is another look at this sweet couple! Don’t miss their whole day tomorrow!
