Monday Musings

It took me a lot longer to write this post than the normal Monday blog. I had some notes and ideas but when I opened my web browser all that changed. What do my random goings-on and musings matter in light of the tragedy that happened over the weekend? Another attack, another mass shooting, and another time when hopelessness seems to overwhelm. In light of those that lost their lives and those still fighting for them, my words felt empty.

There are those who are in mourning.

There are those who are afraid and are lashing out, angry.

There are those who are asking how, and why this could happen again.

And so instead of the normal Monday ramblings, I just want to share this: God is mourning too. Where there is hate, He longs for love. Where there is tragedy, He longs to comfort. Where there is pain, He longs to be near. In the darkness, He is light. In the chaos, He is still good.

So instead of empty words on Facebook or accusations on Twitter cry out to the God who is weeping with you and spread hope where darkness threatens to overwhelm.
