I am trying to become a morning person. I am setting multiple alarms, laying my running shoes by my bed, fighting 29 years of biology, and learning to get up before the sun instead of being best friends with my snooze button. It’s not fun as my internal clock would prefer to sleep until 10 and stay up past midnight, but that schedule is just not reasonable in my life. One of my goals this year was to get up early enough to eat breakfast and have some time in the mornings instead of waking up as late as possible and rushing out the door with only a large cup of coffee to get me through the day. Well it’s February and I’ve succeeded about half the time and still have no affinity to mornings. I’m working on it though. Stay tuned for results.
One thing that has helped me to wake up earlier than desired is I’ve started the 21 Day Fix again. If you follow me on Instagram you know that last year I did this workout program from Beachbody and loved it. The workouts are doable and only 30 minutes, plus the meal plans are simple and easy to follow. Brides, I highly recommend it in preparation for the big day. With the 21 Day Fix Extreme (aka the next step up of intense workouts) arriving at my house and my trip to California looming I wanted to get another round in. This means I spent a lot of my weekend doing food prep because if it’s made ahead of time I am a lot more likely to succeed. So I made a turkey and roasted red pepper meatloaf (my first time making a meatloaf I might add), homemade dijon dressing, my own taco seasoning, a few weeks worth of smoothie packs, and still to come zucchini lasagna. The planner in me loves that my meals are ready for the week, though the foodie in me is a little sad.
While I was prepping all my food I did have the chance to catch up on the new winter TV. Besides all my Shondaland shows stressing me out I also am up to date on The Blacklist and ugly cried my way through the finale of Parenthood. Who’s with me? That finale was one of the best and saddest I’ve ever seen. Comes in a close second to my all-time favorite Gilmore Girls.
Lastly, the website got a small update as everything from 2014 graced the home page and portfolio. If you haven’t seen it yet go check it out. And come back later in the week for this fall deliciousness I second shot with Maya McMahon Photography to hit the blog!
