Today’s musings are brought to you post lunch at the new Radford Coffee Company with a refill of their dark roast in hand. I finally made it down to Radford to check out this new shop everyone is raving about and it exceeded the hype. It was full of wonderful people and fellow creatives, the food was delicious, the decor original, and the coffee is AH-mazing. I definitely recommend stopping in anytime you are in the area. Since I’m normally stuck in Blacksburg during the week – I took advantage of the holiday and met my dad for lunch – though we both got breakfast food because in the words of the great Leslie Knope, “Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food?”
The food and multiple cups of joe were help in catching up after yesterday – the Greater Virginia Bridal Show happened in Roanoke and it was wonderful. Our booth was next to The Patrick Henry Ballroom again and it’s always fun being “neighbors” with them at shows. Seth had little glass slippers at each place setting to go with the fairy tale theme and they were so cute. If you are still looking for a venue call and talk to him, because they do a beautiful job with weddings there. We had such and amazing time meeting so many brides who’s weddings are happening now all the way to 2017, and can’t wait to work with you! But after talking all day yesterday – my voice is done for :) If we met you yesterday thanks so much for stopping by! Here is a picture of our booth:
Besides the show we are still recovering celebrating from our new launch last week. We are in LOVE with the new look! Have you gotten a chance to browse around? So besides a day off on Friday from web design and galleries, here are some other fun things that filled our weekend:
- Saturday we celebrated a friends birthday at the new Cinebowl. We’ve been to the movies there, but not bowling yet and it is super nice. I love the couches and giant TVs as well as the fact that you can eat pretzel bites from the restaurant at the lanes.
- Carri tried re-creating Chinese food at home and it wasn’t my favorite. There are some recipes I love but this one was just not up to snuff. But it was healthy and had no msg :) Needless to say it won’t be entering the rotation. Oh well, win some, lose some.
- In the winter since we tend to stay inside our activities shift to movie watching and puzzles. Every once in a while though, we break out the video games. Now, Scott is actually good while Carri (great at Super Mario Brothers 3 – yay old school) is not so great with the in person views and tends to get dizzy, go the wrong direction, and die. The shooter games where you can just mash buttons are fun, but last night Scott taught me how to play MineCraft. Now there was still plenty of dizziness, falling off things, and dying, but once I got the hang of it I had so much fun. It’s a game I can actually do ok in and we made the coolest house ever that we both want to live in for real. Complete with glass ceilings, a boat dock, and a tree garden.
- Lastly, we finally got around to watching the new Mission Impossible. Being a fan of the franchise I liked it and thought they did a good job keeping up with the story line and it not being too unrealistic. One question though – what happened to Tom Cruises’ wife? She was a huge part of the third movie so how can you not even mention her in the fourth? But I still would recommend seeing it :)
Well, that’s all the musings for this week! Come back on Thursday for this months new recipe I tried out (don’t worry it’s not the bad Chinese food one!).
