This weekend was the perfect mix of busy and relaxing. I had some fun activities and plenty of down time. Friday night we completely unplugged and spent the night in just hanging out and relaxing.
On Saturday I got to participate in the fun holiday tradition that my sister started with the Johnson women 2 years ago of going to Holiday Tea. The Palisades Restaurant does a 4 course tea service and it was so delicious. They start you off with their delicious Buckingham tea and sandwiches and then you get two pick two other flavors as well. They also served the most delicious butterscotch scones that I could have eaten a whole plate of. And you finish with cookies and sweets. It was such a fun experience. We all dressed up and my sister brought us all tiaras to wear. The little girls loved it. Here are a few pictures from the experience – I definitely recommend it!
Then on Sunday I got to spend some time with this cutie who is turning one! I don’t normally shoot babies or families but for close friends and a smile like that, who could say no :) Her pictures will be up later this week!
And now for some random musings:
- I’m not normally a tea drinker and will choose coffee first if it’s an option, but I think Saturday inspired me and so I bought a delicious blueberry tea to drink in the afternoons. Green tea is supposed to be really good for you and we’ll see how switching it up goes.
- I finally got around to watching the last season of Arrested Development on Netflix this weekend. Scott and I used to watch this show all the time and not sure why I never finished it. Now I know…the ending was AWFUL! Like really, that’s how the whole thing ends? Disappointed. There was no resolution.
- I got a new computer this weekend! My mac has seen better days and runs very slowly and so it was time for an upgrade! The new one has twice the storage and runs so well. Merry Christmas to me :)
- I’ve been reading the Year of Yes lately and am in love. There are so many things that are jumping out and me and helping me think differently about the way I live. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good read. Plus Shonda is brilliant.
Well that about wraps it up. Come back later this week to see more of Eliza’s pictures!
