Monday Musings

Wedding season is now officially over. We made it :) Saturday was my last wedding of the season – and it was all the more special because it was my baby sisters wedding! I pulled double duty as both Matron of Honor and Photographer. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I loved being able to be that for her – and it worked in a way I didn’t have to miss anything or work the whole time. It was a busy day for sure, and I couldn’t have done it with out the amazing Jessica of JLE Photography or my husband. Together the three of us, armed with cameras were able to capture the full story of their day. I’ll show you more behind the scenes of how it all worked later this week. But it was a full, happy, long, perfect day. So yesterday we spent the day sleeping, making a big breakfast, watching Arrested Development, not moving off the couch, ordering pizza, and being very lazy. It was the perfect way to recover and even more fun that Scott and I had a rare day off together with nothing to do.

Now that the business side of things is slowing down, it’s hitting me that there are only 4 weeks left in 2015. This year has flown by. We’ve been going non-stop and I’m so excited the holiday season is here and we can take some time to slow down and catch our breath before the new year starts. For a lot of people this time of year is so stressful with all the events and shopping to do. Our family stopped doing gifts a few years ago and instead put the money toward a vacation together. Not only is it the perfect way to end the year, but also relieves a lot of the busy-ness that tends to surround this season. Plus we get another week at the beach! It’s a win-win. So instead of having to shop I just get to put on some Christmas music, sip hot cocoa, edit this wedding, and enjoy the Christmas season. Now if we could just get some snow it would be perfect.

And speaking of, my cocoa is getting cold so it’s back to editing! The whole wedding day will be on the blog tomorrow but until then here is another look at the Kings!
