Well another weekend has come and gone – and after this one I’m thinking we should always have three day weekends. Who’s with me? It was the perfect time off. I had a day to relax and catch up on sleep, life, tv. Then a day to get things done (I don’t think my house has ever been cleaner), and then a day to spend at church and with family. It was great and it made coming to work this Monday morning not as dreadful as it normally is :)

Of course my favorite holiday also fell this weekend which was a plus. We spent the day grilling out, eating way to much, playing Qwirkle, and watching fireworks at the lake. The only thing that would have made it better was if Scott wasn’t stuck at work all day. Though after seeing friend’s post from the fireworks show in DC I’m thinking next year we are going to need to spend the holiday weekend there – my favorite holiday in my favorite city = perfection.

Other random musings for the day:

• I own way too many DVDs. We transferred them all from a dresser to a bookshelf this weekend and it is overwhelming – but they are hard to get rid of because what if you want to break out an old classic and it’s been removed from Netflix? Still, I’m trying to pair down.
• I discovered a cure for my late afternoon headaches I’ve been getting – not enough caffeine! So now I have a legitimate excuse for that second (or third!) afternoon cup of Joe.
• Guest lists are overwhelming. Why is it you can have the perfect curated list for months and then as soon as you drop the invitations in the mail there are 15 more people you realize you missed. Oops – doing some more addressing today :)
• Lastly, what happened to summer? I know people say it’s great and we need the rain, but it’s been raining on and off all week! I miss the sun! I need more pool time! California can we trade? Just until after the wedding :)

Well at least we stayed dry enough to have a great fireworks show! Here are some pictures to hold us over until next year :) Hope your fourth of July was fun, relaxing, and spent with people you love.
