They are avid Hokies stuck in Charlottesville. And even though they are surrounded by UVA fans, that doesn’t deter their love for all things Virginia Tech. They met on campus when she was a freshman and got engaged at the Duck Pond, so it is only fitting that we returned to the place she said yes for their engagement session.

We’d talked all week and kept an eye on the oncoming hurricane, but being the fun loving, adventurous couple they are, they didn’t let the threat of rain stop them. So we loaded up the rain boots and umbrellas and headed to the duck pond. Samantha’s radiant smile beamed despite the clouds and Phil looks at her like he is the luckiest man alive. And as we shot in the very place their journey as husband and wife started, the rain increasing, Scott and I knew that this was going to be one of our favorite sessions ever.

Phil and Sam, thank you for braving the storm with us, trusting us as we traipsed through puddles, and laughing with us despite the ever increasing rain drops. We loved every minute of your session and witnessing the way you make each other laugh. We had fun exploring campus with you and even trying to break into the stadium…unsuccessfully :) We can not wait for your wedding next year! Here are some of our favorites from our shoot!
