Downtown was overrun. High schoolers in short sparkly dresses and high heels. Parents pointing as many screens as possible at the young couples. Yes, it was homecoming. And this is the Saturday we picked to meet up with Drew and Emily for their engagement session!
They used to live downtown. Their apartment overlooking some of the views we were heading towards. They wanted to head back to the spaces that told part of their story and we loved that plan.
Engagement pictures are so important to us because it gives us time to hang out with our couples that we don’t get on a wedding day. We get to know them and vice versa and then it feels more like friends showing up on your wedding day. But Drew and Emily took us one step further, giving us a mini tour of downtown and all the meaningful places to them. We saw their old apartment and the “Uneeda” biscuit sign it overlooked, the restaurant they ate at the night of their engagement, the places they walked, talked, and fell in love.
Emily and Drew, from the moment we met you at the Wedding Crawl we already felt like friends but this solidified it. You are both such wonderful people and we loved being let into parts of your story. Thank you for sharing your city and your lives with us. We can not wait for your Mountain Lake Wedding next year! Here are just a few of our many favorites from your session.
