This weekend was so full of all the best things! I keep saying that I thought the winter was “off season” for photographers, but we have not slowed down at all :) And that is not a complaint! I am loving having so much photography related things to do because it means fun new things for you and changes behind the scenes plus fun new things to shoot.
On Friday and Saturday, I spent time with 130+ other women attending the IF: Gathering. It is a conference out of Austin, but then there are live streams to all over the world. Some friends hosted one in Radford and it was so amazing. I got to meet some new faces, connect with people I haven’t seen in a while, and have amazing quality time among women. It was challenging and refreshing all at once. I love that they have the information available to make changes locally and impact you where you are, in your place, with your people :)
Then Sunday we spent the day up at Nesselrod Bed and Breakfast with Jordan from Studio I Do that just opened in Roanoke! We had a fun styled shoot with some of their dresses, showing off the beautiful property and even a cake from Fresh Baked Bakery. It was so much fun to hang out with these businesses and shoot some amazing gowns – so much more on that to come soon, but here is a sneak peek at our beautiful model!
And now for some Monday Musings on life here lately:
- Last week we sent out our first ever Edmiston Photography Newsletter! We are so excited to get this up and running and if you would like to subscribe we will be sending it out at the beginning of each month! This has been a labor of love over January and there is so much more to come.
- Can we talk about Super Bowl commercials for a second? There wasn’t even one that stood out as amazing. Is it because of small internet ads there are just no great commercials? Did I miss one? What was your favorite? Comment below so I can check them out because I was disappointed this year – save the Stranger Things 2 preview and some good 90s boy band references.
- This sums up everything I feel about guacamole: “What’s most important is that even if you come around to agree that this is the best way, you cannot tell others who are making guacamole for you their favorite way or they might stop and then you will have less guacamole in your life. I think we can all agree that even imperfect guacamole is better than no guacamole.” Via Smitten Kitchen. No matter how you make it I will eat it and love it :)
- This last one is for you small business owners: The Pixifi Academy is launching on FRIDAY!! We are so excited and are going to talk about all the pros and cons of this software on the blog soon!
Ok and one more look at this sweet southern bow because I’m smitten :) Don’t miss the full post on Wednesday!
