Happy Monday! It is a freezing cold day – perfect for staying inside with a cup of coffee and that is what we are both planning to do today. Snow days are my favorite: a chance to relax and ignore all the things on your todo list, to have movie marathons with extra popcorn. But since we did that all weekend, today we’ve been playing a little catch up.

As much as we love the busy season and shooting back to back weddings, it’s been nice to have a little slower pace and a few Saturday’s off to catch up and plan for the coming year. There is a lot in store and brides, we are so excited to share it with you! But for now most of it is still being worked on behind the scenes :)

So, since last Monday’s post was a little different, here are the first musings of 2017!

• The main thing on the horizon right now, is we are getting ready for the Greater Virginia Bridal Show! It is happening at the Berglund center in a couple weeks and this will be our third year participating! We love this event and everything Virginia Brides Magazine does to put it on. Angeline – the woman behind the show and publication – is amazing and we love working with her and all the vendors! Brides, this is an event you definitely shouldn’t miss!
• Other than work we’ve been doing some projects around the house. My new office is on the way to being set up. The desk is together and the new computer up and running with most of what I need. Still a few things to organize, but I’m excited to show you the transformation when it’s finished!
• I finally caught up on Sherlock over this snowed in weekend. Somehow I didn’t finish season 3 – but now I’m caught up! I forgot how much I loved this show and how brilliant it is. I’m excited season 4 is already streaming (albeit on PBS) so I don’t have to wait to find out what happens.
• I’ve recently discovered, I’m terrible at making coffee. Not that it tastes bad or my quantities are off, but I can not make a pot of coffee without spilling at least some if not most of the coffee grounds. I don’t know if it’s because that’s one of the first things I do in the morning and my brain is not awake, or I’m just clumsy but 3 days in a row it’s been kind of a disaster :)
