Happy Halloween! Most people spent the weekend at fun costume parties or passing out candy to adorable children. Since we live on a busy road in a basement apartment we never have any trick-or-treaters. So instead we spent the weekend relaxing and catching up on some good movies. It’s one of our last free Saturdays of the year so we relished every minute :) We are excited for the holidays to start though and mini-sessions gearing up as well as 3 more weddings before the year is done! Warm cozy winter weddings are some of my favorites :)
It is hard to get in the warm cozy mood when it’s still in the 80s – but I haven’t had to put away my flip flops yet so I’m not complaining! We haven’t done much to get in the “fall” spirit but I have been drinking copious amounts of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, so does that count?
And we participated in the #instatidechallenge on Instagram last week as well. It was so fun to connect with other creatives and share a little of our heart behind the business as well. If you missed it follow the hashtag from our account and you won’t be dissapointed. My favorite day was the “what occupies your time when you aren’t running a business?” It was so fun to see what everyone does in their day-to-day lives.
Now for some weekend musings:
- Some free time + a free Redbox rental means I also finally got to see the new Jungle Book movie! It was so good. They did a great job with the characters and CGI, and Bill Murray as Baloo was a major win.
- I haven’t posted a recipe here in a while but my next goal is to roast a perfect chicken. I think it will be similar to a turkey but still need to find the perfect recipe. So far I’m leaning towards Ina – anyone have any other suggestions?
- Scott recently got a beard care kit. Most of you have seen his awesome beard at weddings but he is letting it grow for November and once he has some time to test it out – we might even have a review and some tips for you grooms!
- I also went to my first spin class this week! After I got over the first 15 minutes-I’m-not-going-to-make-it-and-may-die part I actually loved it and can’t wait to go back, even if my legs were like Jello for the next couple days :)
- Did you see the Gilmore Girls trailer this week?! Only 25 days! I loved it and may have watched it 3 times in a row. I love that the girls are back and can’t wait to see the whole thing plus those 4 famous words…
That’s all for this Halloween! Off to trade in my work attire for the only costume I want to wear: flannel pj pants :) Hope you get to cozy up to someone you love tonight – costumed or not :)
