Happy Monday! I’m getting a little later start today since my allergies decided to try and kill me this morning so I stayed in bed until 11. I don’t know what it is but I’m ready for this pollen to go somewhere! One of the many side effects of summer I guess. This past week has been full of cookouts and s’mores though so I’ll take a little pollen in exchange for the amazingness of the season.
This weekend, Scott and I got real fancy and drove around town to two grocery stores to buy the good ravioli. Mostly because we could not make a decision on what to have for dinner and more driving time equals more Pokemon for him :) Plus I really wanted ravioli. Then, I spent Saturday with my sister. She’s been out of town forever and was only back for a day or two before leaving again. So we did the girliest thing you can do and wandered around Sephora for about 3 hours playing with new product and getting made over by their makeup artists. I can’t remember the last time I went to the mall but it was so fun and good to see her. And yes, we probably bought too much.
Beside sister time I didn’t get much accomplished this weekend and that’s ok. I’m finishing up a wedding but all my engagement sessions are toward the end of the month so there isn’t much new to share with you photography-wise, but here are some musings for the day:
- I always like to have something on in the background while I’m editing like Parks and Rec or Gilmore Girls but lately, I have a new weird hobby. Watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. I’m not very high maintenance and don’t love to wear a ton of makeup, but for some reason, I really enjoy watching other people apply it. It’s so weird but it blows my mind how someone can look like a completely different person just by how they apply certain products. It started because Charmaine, the girl who does my hair started filming them again (the same one who made me look amazing on my wedding day!) so I watched hers and then being youtube, spiraled down into a wormhole that I was totally sucked into. And I kinda love it. (Hence the hours in make-up candy land).
- If you’ve been reading on here for a while you know that I’m weird in the fact that I enjoy reading cookbooks for fun. Well, I’ve been loving the Smitten Kitchen one my husband surprised me with for Christmas and I just found out today that she is done with the 1st draft of her second one! So even though it won’t be out for a while I can’t wait to pre-order it :) Since she’s a blogger there is so much in between the recipes and I really enjoy the way she writes.
- There is an amazing category on Netflix called “Movies from the 1990s” and it is full of cheesy movies I haven’t seen in years. I may have spent most of yesterday working my way through them while editing and now I’m a season down on the West Wing too. I told Scott I love it because it’s a political show without all the smut but still plenty of drama. Sometimes you need a good 90s classic :) He says I like it because it’s political Gilmore Girls – aka they talk really fast. Either way, it’s a win.
- Lastly, rosé flavored gummy bears exist. And yes I want to try them. However, there is a wait list of over 10,000 people to get them! So, probably not going to happen :)
Other than that not much is happening around here this week – like I said new recipe coming at you on Thursday and this weekend I’m attending my first LuLaRoe party :) What are your recommendations from them? I am mostly excited about their dresses because I’m always looking for new ones to shoot in! But hey, I’m always down for more comfy leggings so you feel like you are in PJs all day :)
Hope you all enjoy this beautiful Monday! See you on Thursday for something tasty!
