Monday Musings

There is not enough coffee in the world to get me through today :) For the second time in my life ever I think, I was unable to sleep last night. For you all who know me you know that I love sleeping and can fall asleep pretty much anywhere at anytime. Not sure what was going on but I was up from 2-6 am and just couldn’t fall back asleep. Course around 5 I realized the HEAT was on in our house – so I’m assuming that is why :) So today’s post might be a little shorter than normal.

Either way, it is Monday and we are back at it. This weekend we shot the wedding of these two gorgeous people and loved every minute of it. Their full post will be on the blog tomorrow, but for now here is a fun sneak peek:

Some other Musings for you today :

  • Scott and I re-watched Jurrasic World this week and I was thinking, the entire movie could have been avoided if they didn’t open the door to the cage and just let the dinosaur eat Chris Pratt. Sad but true :) But that ruins the whole premise of the movie, and you wouldn’t have the awesome hunting-with-raptors scene.
  • Some of our really good friends are getting married this coming Saturday at our wedding venue. So I went out there with them this past week to talk through how their day will be set up. It was the first time I was back at Rockwood since we got married so it was a little surreal but I loved being back.
  • This chicken recipe pretty much made my weekend. I switched out the chicken broth for white wine and added mushrooms and it was amazing. If you are looking for a delicious sauce that you can (and totally should) eat with a spoon this one is a winner.
  • This weekend’s wedding was the first one I shot with the new camera and it was a dream. I loved having the capability to control so much more and be more creative. For you photographers, 64 focus points is a game changer! :)
  • Lastly, have you all heard of ThredUp yet? If not you need to check it out asap. It is basically an online thrift store. So everything is second hand but they inspect it and fix it up. And unlike a real thrift store in this one you can filter and search so that you are only looking at your size in the items you want. It’s amazing and a little addictive. I got a pair of express jeans for $6. Just saying. Also, if you click the link above we both get $10 free to spend! Happy shopping!

That’s all for today – I’m back to editing images and getting tomorrow’s post ready. Don’t miss it, it’s going to be amazing. And I also might sneak in a nap or 3 more cups of coffee. We’ll see which wins :)
