I’ve known Anne my entire life. She was friends with my mom before I was even around :) My sisters and I grew up having Anne babysit us and be a part of our family. So when my mom called to tell me on her most recent visit she brought a man along we all couldn’t wait to meet him. And then for her to ask me to be her wedding photographer was such an honor.
It all started after some mutual friends arranged a dinner party to basically be a blind date set-up. For a month or so these friends had been encouraging Jim to meet Anne, but it had yet to happen – so they took matters into their own hands. Since everyone else at the dinner party was already married the set up was pretty obvious and a little awkward. But that didn’t stop Jim. He emailed Anne a few days later telling her what a good time he had and asking to go out again. But the email went to the wrong Anne! So when a fellow, married staff member named Anne brought it up in the elevator a few weeks later Jim realized his blunder and emailed the correct Anne. They still laugh about this as they told me their story. And just to think, if he hadn’t realized his mistake they could have both missed out on the incredible happiness they’ve found in each other.
A few months later after bringing Jim to Blacksburg to meet the family and all the most important people in her life they stopped at the Pilot Mountain overlook and Jim asked her to be his wife – first with a fake ring her nephew had won from a vending machine – so it wasn’t until he pulled out the real deal that Anne realized he was serious and said a resounding YES!
Anne and Jim, your joy was apparent to everyone as we spent the weekend at Winmock at Kinderton. From the sweet things you did for others, even though it was your big day, to the way everyone came around you to make this day possible is really proof of what an amazing couple you are and I am so happy I got to be a part of it. Here are just a few highlights for you all to enjoy from your honeymoon in Myrtle Beach!
This was the cutest thing ever – her nephew just had to see what was going on :)
And can we talk for a second about these ring bearers and this flower girl – so adorable!
Look at this venue! Also each plate was a unique china pattern – it added such a soft vintage feel to the reception tables.
So two things about their wedding cake, the cake topper was two lobsters because Jim told Anne she was his lobster. For any Friends fans out there you know how sweet this is! And, being from Blacksburg, since Anne loves Carol Lee doughnuts (cause let’s be honest they are the best in the world) she ordered 25 dozen of them and had that as her wedding cake instead!
This is the first wedding I’ve shot where my whole family was there – so I had to grab a shot of my parents dancing (on left). Aren’t they just the cutest?
And I even got into a shot with Anne and my sisters! (Thanks to my second shooter JLE Photography for grabbing this shot and all the other amazing ones you got! Couldn’t have done it without you :)
Thanks again, Anne and Jim, for letting me capture your big day! I had an amazing time and I wish you all the happiness in the world!
