He first saw her at a church service. She caught his eye right but it wasn’t love at first sight. They became friends and spent years that way. Their family talks about their love for each other, but first and foremost their love for God and how that’s what brought them together. What started as a handsome man from her church, soon turned into something more. Someone she could turn to, rely on, and spend the rest of her life with. Slowly, Wendy realized that Dwayne was the one she wanted to commit to and hang out with for the rest of her life.
Even though we had talked on the phone in the days leading up to her wedding, I met Wendy for the first time on her wedding day. Amidst doing her Aunt Becky’s hair, figuring out last minute details, and pausing over a glass of Chardonnay we talked about how much Dwayne meant to her and how long they had been waiting for this day. The intimate ceremony between her and Dwayne was absolutely beautiful. They were surrounded by their closest family they loved most as they said “I Do” forever. It was clear as she talked about her soon to be husband that she couldn’t wait to be married to him.
Wendy and Dwayne, it was such a pleasure to be one of the people there to witness this incredible moment in your lives. I hope your beach honeymoon was amazing and that married life is even better than you expected!
