Corinthian Ballroom Wedding | Doug & Sara

He gripped the mic in one hand and a personalized glass in the other. The buzz died down and he began to talk about his only daughter, Sara. He shared what others echoed, that she had found the person that fit her best. And when he got to Doug his “checklist” of pink post-its cascaded all the way to the floor, zig-zagging as he held them high. Of course, this wasn’t what he really thought. In reality, there were only 3 things he said were most important and Doug exceeded them all, the most important being that he loved Sara well.

All the toasts that evening applauded the great people Doug and Sara are, their family raving that there was no doubt in their minds Doug and Sara had found their person and there was not a dry eye in the place, especially Sara’s. And with champagne held high, they celebrated the night away.

The day started with a bit of a hiccup since downtown Roanoke closed off all the streets surrounding their hotel for the Veteran’s Day parade, but thankfully they cleared out before the ceremony started and the rest of the day was perfect. Their closest friends and family were beaming from the trolley ride to the church to the late-night walk to Texas Tavern for an after-wedding hot dog.

Doug and Sara wanted their wedding to celebrate everything iconic to the city they love and they accomplished that. Even in the freezing temperatures, we were able to sneak in some classic skyline portraits. But more important than the places the day took us, was the reminder that these lovebirds were finally becoming husband and wife!

Sara and Doug, thank you for letting Scott and I be a part of this amazing day! Your story has been such a joy to witness and the way you care for those around you is evident. We wish you all the best as you start your lives as husband and wife.

Here are just a few of our favorites from your chilly wedding day as you soak up the Hawaii sun!
