Well this past weekend was different than any other I’ve had :) If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen a new piece of jewelry I’m sporting – yep I’m engaged!

Taking me by complete surprise Thursday night, after an amazing steak dinner while sharing a bottle of wine, Scott asked me to spend forever with him and of course I said yes. I am so excited and still kind of in shock that I am getting married. How long did that take to sink in for you? And can we talk for a second about getting used to wearing an engagement ring? I’m half nervous something is going to happen to it and the other half of me can’t stop admiring it, because it’s ABSOLUTELY gorgeous.

So now I’ll get to spend some time on the other side of the camera in your shoes. And as you all are booking your caterers and DIYing your favors I’ll be right there with you! I’m excited to see what it’s like on the other side and blog about it along the way too. For as much as I know about weddings and as many as I’ve been to this is still a whole new, exciting, overwhelming experience for me!

But more than the wedding I can’t wait for the day that Scott becomes my husband. Where he doesn’t have to go home at night and we can wake up next to each other every morning. To become partners in this life and to support each other in everything we go through. To share in the fun, the mundane, the joyful, and the sorrow. I’m excited to be a wife and hang out with my best friend every day. And so in the midst of all the details, the planning, and the craziness this is what I want to remember and come back to. That him and I are becoming us. That the person I love most in this world will walk alongside me on this journey. And yes, I haven’t stopped smiling about that yet :) I love you so much Scott and am counting the days until I become yours forever.
