Kaitie and her friends had all just graduated college and were getting ready to move into a house and start their lives post-Virginia Tech. It seemed everything was set, until one of the roommates dropped out. Thankfully her housemate knew a guy who was looking for a place and asked Jonathan if he’d be interested. He said yes and after signing the lease him and Kaitie met for the first time. They all moved in and summer kicked off. It wasn’t until one night when they found themselves both up later than the rest of the house that the conversation started. That night turned into many, sitting on their porch swing talking about life and falling in love with the fireflies buzzing around them. And so like that: strangers to roommates, and falling in love and now getting married, their story unfolded.
Since the porch swing was where their story started they wanted to honor that and find a place with a swing we could take their engagement pictures. Immediately The Homeplace came to mind with it’s wrap around porch and southern charm. So as Saturday dawned bright and early we wandered around the property in the cold February weather. They cuddled up with steaming mugs while I snapped away.
Jonathan and Kaitie – your story is one of my favorites. You started as friends and I think that is the best foundation to begin a marriage on. Your love is evident, but even more so I love the way you make each other laugh and hold on to each other. I can’t wait for your November wedding and to toast your becoming husband and wife over a delicious s’more!
Here are some highlights from your session!
