The Glen Engagement Session | Andrew and Lauren

The leaves had started falling. The trees had started to show off in bright yellows and oranges. There was tall grass swaying in an almost non-existent breeze. Everywhere you looked fall had started to creep in. There was only one small problem as we drove up the gravel road to The Glen – it was still 90 degrees. Yes, even though this session looked like the epitome of October, it felt like July. But that did not matter for Andrew and Lauren!

Their lives are full to the brim between the lighting company Andrew owns and Lauren’s long hours working toward her veterinary degree. They drove in from Nashville the night before but instead of a weekend away, they were in Roanoke to be a part of her brother’s wedding! But we managed to steal a few hours and sneak away to capture these portraits and celebrate the fact that after 7 years they are soon going to be officially husband and wife!

We explored the different parts of this gorgeous venue (where they will tie the knot!) and despite the summer-like evening, had the best time hearing their proposal story (even if it didn’t go quite as planned), laughing over the woes of badly lit events, swapping stories about dating for many years, and seeing who they are as a couple.

Andrew and Lauren, thank you for inviting us into your lives and letting us capture this sweet time for you all. We are so glad you were in town and we could finally meet in person and get to know you better! We hope you love these pictures and get some time amidst the busyness of your schedules to enjoy being engaged and all that wedding planning entails. We can’t wait to be a part of your day next year – it’s going to be such a fun celebration!
